Ring Groups provide a single destination number that can ring multiple phones simultaneously or in sequence. These are commonly used to distribute incoming calls amongst multiple users so that caller waiting time is reduced. Ring Groups can also be forwarded to another destination, but this option is only available via the web interface.

Ring Groups

Field Explanation
Name The name of the Ring Group.
Extension The extension number of the Ring Group.
Strategy Choose from either Simultaneous (all ring at once), Sequence (one at a time, in order), or Random (one at a time, randomly selected). Enterprise and Rollover are not supported at this time.
Destinations Enter the destination extensions to be part of the ring group. Delay sets a period in seconds where this phone will not ring in a simultaneous group. Order sets what order the phones will ring in from lowest to highest for Sequence groups. Timeout sets how long in seconds before this phone stops ringing.
Timeout Destination Dictates where to send the call should all destinations timeout.
CID Name Prefix Sets a prefix on the caller ID name. Eg. "Sales".
CID Number Prefix Sets a prefix on the caller ID number.
Distinctive Ring Not used at this time.
Ring Back Defines what the caller hears - you can select from ring tones, recordings or hold music.
User List Not used at this time.
Forwarding Allows you to temporarily forward the calls destined for this ring group to an extension or external number.
Enabled Sets the status of the ring group.
Description Enter a description for the ring group.
